Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 AMβ9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Best Chinese in San Antonio, family owned and family ran business making delicious quality Chinese food. I've been coming here since 1998 and it's always consistent in taste and quality. This isn't your mass produced heavily sugared sauce Chinese meals like Wok Inn and Golden Wok. The best Chinese hands down. I always recommend the Szechuan Beef, amazing!

I can say so many wonderful things about Ginβs, but I will try to keep it short and sweet to the best of my ability. My family and I have been coming here since i was a small child. Not once have we left hungry and disappointed. Every visit we are left with full bellies and full of smiles. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The rice is always cooked to perfection, egg rolls are hot and crispy, rangoons filled with cream cheese and crab meat, and every entree I have had has succeeded my expectations. Aside from the exquisite cuisine, this is a family owned restaurant. The staff is so friendly and they remember me whether Iβm with my large family or flying solo for dinner. The overwhelming love I feel walking into Ginβs is something I always appreciate whole heartedly. I will forever come to Ginβs no matter how far away I live or work. To the Ginβs family: thank yβall so much for taking care of my pain in the butt family all these years. Yall are the best!!!

I had seen a video of this place on TikTok I believe, saying it's a staple Chinese restaurant here in San Antonio so I decided to give it a try. To keep it simple. I did not agree that it's "very good". It's a solid place. The food came out hot and mostly freshly made, the fried rice wasn't particularly hot. The flavors were ok, nothing amazing, but you also won't be mad at it. I will note, the Fried Noodles and the Fried Rice has a very distinct, smoke flavor. Which I did not like. It almost tasted like cigarette ash. It's hard to explain, I know they have smoked chicken and stuff on the menu, so I'm not sure if they use a smoky oil or something but I didn't love that taste. The orange chicken was solid. It was more on the sour side, but didn't have much of a citrus flavor going on. The fried noodles were also solid, but not much flavor going on besides the smokey taste. I had to add chili oil and a bit of soy sauce to give it something. My biggest complaint I will admit, is this place is very old. I'm not sure if they'd ever consider a remodel. But the carpet is old, chairs are old the ceiling is run down, there's flickering lights that need fixing, old abandoned machines that us

Tasty Chinese restaurant. Doesn'took very impressive from the outside of the plaza it's in but don't be fooled the food is worth it. It's had an outdated decor but who cares. You come for the food and service. And this place delivers. I can't remember what I had but I ate the entire dish. Service is good, the only improvement is towards the end of you meal they might take a while to bring your check. But if you're in a rush you can always go to the counter and pay. Over all it's a great spot with lunch meals that are worth coming back for.
